Music (B. Mus.)
Study content:
The degree programme focuses on professional artistic musical training in the main artistic subject, ensemble work (choir/orchestra) and chamber music, as well as a sound grounding in pedagogy and subject-specific teaching methods. Engagement with fundamental questions regarding the acquisition and teaching of music, knowledge of the prerequisites and conditions for musical learning and teaching, of technical and methodological approaches, as well as the development of communication skills, combined with a high level of artistic competence, enable effective music teaching in later professional life. Two specialisations are available: Instrumental-/Vocal Music Education or Elementary Music Education. The distinctive feature of studying music at a university is that it allows students to acquire knowledge in many additional subjects.
