From April 2026, the arithmetic average of credit point weighted module grades?for which one has registered and been graded for bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes will be shown on the Transcript of Records (for the degree programme or respective major or minor in which one is enrolled).

What does this mean?

• Which modules are included?

Only graded modules will be considered. The weighting is based on the relevant credit points.

• How is the average calculated?

Each module grade is multiplied by the credit points of the module. This value is then summed up and divided by the total number of credit points for graded modules. The result is limited to two decimal places; no rounding takes place.

• What happens if some grades are still missing?

In this case, the weighted arithmetic average is calculated with the available graded modules. The weighted arithmetic average is therefore a value that changes with new grades and credit points.

• Are subsequent grades considered?

Yes. Each time a Transcript of Records is requested the weighted arithmetic average is automatically updated.

Exception:?If You are enrolled in a teacher training programme, you can apply for a preliminary Confirmation of Average Grade at the Student Service Centre when applying for a master’s degree programme. For this, you need to provide your enrolment no. (Matrikelnummer). Send an email to: ssc@zv.uni-augsburg.de.
