Prof. Dr. Pam Grossman is one of the most eminent scholars in the field of teacher education internationally. Her pioneering research on core practices — encompassing the representation, decomposition, and approximation of practice — has fundamentally reshaped how professional preparation for teaching is conceived and studied. As former Dean of Penn Graduate School of Education (2014–2023) and Nomellini-Olivier Professor Emerita at Stanford, she has led and inspired a global movement toward practice-based teacher education.

In this lecture, Prof. Grossman will present findings from an emerging empirical research base on practice-based teacher education, examining how core practices can be systematically learned, enacted, and studied across institutional and national contexts.

All faculty, doctoral students, and researchers with an interest in teacher education and Core Teaching Practices are warmly welcome.

We look forward to your participation.
