Research Associate (m/f/d), Faculty of Medicine

At the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Augsburg, the Research Group for Integrative Epithelial Biology and Immunometabolism (AG 2 – Keshavarz) at the Institute of Theoretical Medicine – Anatomy & Cell Biology is seeking to fill the position of a

Research Associate (m/f/d)

for 65 % of the regular working hours for a fixed-term employment contract of 3 years.

Subject to fulfilment of the personal and pay scale requirements, remuneration will be in accordance with pay scale TV-L 13.

This position is intended for a scientific qualification (doctoral degree / PhD).

Your responsibilities:

  • Planning, execution, and analysis of experimental studies in mouse models (including genetically modified lines)
  • Investigation of epithelial–immune signaling pathways under inflammatory and metabolic conditions
  • Application of molecular, histological, and cell biological techniques
  • Quantitative morphometric and ultrastructural analyses (including electron microscopy in collaboration)
  • Participation in transcriptomic and single-cell analyses
  • Presentation of research findings at scientific conferences
  • Publication of results in international peer-reviewed journals

Your profile:

  • Completed university degree (Master’s or Diplom) in life sciences, molecular medicine, human biology, biochemistry, or a related field
  • Strong interest in experimental and translational research
  • Solid knowledge in at least one of the following areas: immunology, molecular biology, histology and microscopy, laboratory animal research
  • Willingness to work with laboratory animals (certification in animal experimentation is desirable)
  • Independent, structured working style and ability to work in a team
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
