Professor of Voice (m/f/d), Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences

The Leopold Mozart College of Music at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences at the University of Augsburg is seeking to make the following permanent part-time appointment at the next possible starting date.

Professor of Voice
Salary grade W2

(Part-time position (50%), teaching professorship with 11.5 contact hours)

We are seeking a distinguished artistic personality with university-level teaching experience, expertise in vocal technique and comprehensive repertoire knowledge for both female and male voice types, and who represents the subject of singing in accordance with the university’s concept, which integrates artistic, pedagogical, and academic approaches to music. Artistic expertise in various areas of singing performance including opera and operetta, art song and/or concert performance is also desired. Responsibilities include teaching and examination duties in the subject of voice within the bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes in music, collegial planning, and implementation of concert events and projects, as well as networking and collaboration with the subject and study-programme areas.

A willingness to participate in the committees for academic self-administration is required. The teaching load is 11.5 contact hours, and the language of instruction is German.

Prerequisites for employment are a completed university degree, pedagogical aptitude, and a special aptitude for artistic work, as well as additional artistic achievements. Alternatively, if there is a special public interest, candidates who can demonstrate outstanding subject-related achievements in the form of practical experience, as well as pedagogical suitability may also be appointed.?
