Pioneering research & international collaboration: Dr. Aissatou Ndiaye among the finalists for the prestigious Einstein Foundation Early Career Award 2025

Dr. Aissatou Ndiaye?was among the five finalists selected for the prestigious Einstein Foundation Early Career Award 2025. Dr. Ndiaye led a team of four scientists from the climate and energy sector who collaborated on the research proposal ¡°High Resolution Climate Dataset for West Africa: A Service for Climate Protection and Energy Transitions¡±. From a pool of 72 global applications, an international and interdisciplinary jury of experts nominated five pioneering research projects to present their work during the Berlin Science Week 2025. About Dr. Aissatou Ndiaye: Dr. Aissatou Ndiaye holds a PhD in climate and energy. She is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair for Regional Climate and Hydrology at the University of Augsburg, where she holds an Alexander von Humboldt Foundation International Climate Protection Fellowship. Ndiaye is working on promoting solar energy integration by developing an energy meteorological forecast system that provides solar irradiance forecasts for the renewable energy sector.

About the?Einstein Foundation Early Career Award:?The Einstein Foundation Berlin?in cooperation with the QUEST Center for Responsible Research at the Berlin Institute of Health at Charit¨¦ (BIH) annually recognizes outstanding researchers and institutions with the Einstein Foundation Award for Promoting Quality in Research. The?Einstein Foundation Early Career Award, one of three award categories, recognizes early career researchers as ¡°essential drivers of change in research culture¡±. The Award honors innovative projects across the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and life sciences that strengthen transparency, inclusiveness, and integrity in science.

Early career researchers or small teams of collaborating researchers can submit a project proposal for an award of €100,000. The award is open to researchers and institutions from around the world.?Selection criteria for the Award are innovation, relevance & impact, originality, and feasibility. The Award is funded by the BIH QUEST Center for Responsible Research, with additional resources made available by the State of Berlin.?
