Dr. Felix Schilberth awarded with RIKEN Postdoctoral Fellowship
Dr. Felix Schilberth, a researcher at the Chair of Experimental Physics V has been awarded a postdoctoral fellowship at the japanese research institute?
RIKEN. Starting on September 1, he will join the Center for Emergent Matter Sciences (CEMS), where he will contribute to the "Emergent Photodynamics" group led by Dr. Naoki Ogawa. His research focus on?novel (antiferromagnetic) materials and on making their magnetic states observable and controllable using intense light pulses - aiming, in the long term, at a significantly faster and more energy-efficient data technologies.?
During his doctoral studies at the University of Augsburg, Dr. Schilberth already specialized in magnetic material systems and their interaction with light, establishing himself as an expert in magneto-optical characterization. In addition, he played a key scientific role in optical research activities within the?DFG Collaborative Research Centre/Transregio 360 “Constrained Quantum Matter”, coordinated by the University of Augsburg (jointly proposed with the Technical University of Munich).
Through his research, Dr. Felix Schilberth strenghtens a three-year bilateral consortium comprising two Japanese and three German research groups. The collaboration is funded by the respective national agencies by the German Research Foundation (DFG) in Germany and the Japan Society Promotion of Science (JSPS) in Japan. The network is coordinated by?Prof. Dr. István Kézsmárki (University of Augsburg). Participating researchers include Dr. Davide Bossini (University of Konstanz), Prof. Tsuyoshi Kimura (University of Tokio), Prof. Johannes Knolle (Technical University of Munich), Dr. Naoki Ogawa (RIKEN) and Prof. Yoshinori Tokura (RIKEN).
