bidt Call for Applications for Early-Career Funding in the Field of Digitalization: Admission to the Graduate Center for Doctoral Researchers (Application Deadline: February 10, 2026)
The Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts aims to support doctoral projects by particularly qualified doctoral researchers whose work has a technological, economic, or societal focus of relevance to digitalisation. This funding is provided within the framework of the Graduate Center and is coordinated by the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt). In 2026, up to 25 doctoral researchers are expected to be admitted to the bidt Graduate Center once again.
The funding programme enables doctoral researchers at higher education institutions in Bavaria to network and pursue further training in the field of digitalisation, as well as to receive financial support for their research activities related to their doctoral projects. Participation in the bidt Graduate Center includes access to events and training opportunities and a scholarship of EUR 3,000 per year for the duration of the doctoral project, for a maximum of four years.
Admission to the bidt Graduate Center offers:
Participation in events and courses on current topics in digitalisation
Receipt of a scholarship
Access to all bidt events
Exchange with other doctoral researchers as well as experts from academia and society through working groups
Increased visibility within the academic community and beyond
The application deadline is?February 10, 2026.
Admission following a successful application is expected to take effect on?May 1, 2026.
