GBM (M.Sc.) – How to apply

Application Requirements
The Global Business Management (M.Sc.) program is open to all applicants holding a bachelor's degree or are about to graduate from a higher education program and requires an aptitude assessment. Applications for the aptitude assessment must be submitted electronically by the application deadline (June 15 each year).

The program is aimed at persons who graduate with a bachelor's degree convering competencies in business, management and economics. This includes bachelor's degree programs in Global Business Management, Business Administration, Economics, and German-French Management.

Graduates of related bachelor's degree programs such as Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Law and Economics, Business Mathematics, and similar programs are also explicitly invited to apply. Students from more distant fields of study such as Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Law, and others can also successfully pass the aptitude test, provided they provide the relevant proof.

If necessary, additional modules may have to be completed in individual qualification areas in order to demonstrate the relevant aptitude.

Aptitude assessment for the GBM M.Sc.
- Foundational, discipline-specific skills for addressing challenges and developing solution approaches across key business administration areas, including international management, innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability, corporate management and marketing, information systems, operations and logistics, investment, financing and accounting;
- Basic understanding of selected economic issues in the areas of microeconomics, macroeconomics or economic policy;
- Basic skills in the mathematical methods used in economics, such as linear algebra, single- and multivariable calculus, linear optimization;
- Understanding of the most important terms and concepts of descriptive statistics and application of selected methods of inductive statistics.
The selection committee awards a score of 0-20 points (in increments of five points) for your performance in each of these areas during your bachelor's degree program. A maximum of 80 points can be achieved in this area.?

?A voluntarily submitted GMAT with minimum 640 Points 65% percentile, respectively (mandatory for bachelor's degree graduates from China, Bangladesh, India, Egypt, and Pakistan) can be awarded up to 10 additional points.

An optional semester abroad completed as part of the bachelor's degree program can be awarded a one-time bonus of 10 points.

You need proof of English language proficiency at level C1. The options for providing proof recognized by the University of Augsburg can be found here. Language proficiency is considered proven if at least one of the following conditions is met:?
- The university entrance qualification was obtained at an English-speaking educational institution.
- A general higher education entrance qualification certificate shows the corresponding level.
- As part of a university degree, you have successfully completed exams worth at least 20 credit points or more in English.
A maximum of 100 points can be achieved in total. Admission is granted if a minimum of 70 points is achieved. Details of the aptitude test can be found in Appendix 1 of the examination regulations.
