From 15 to 30 January 2026, Dr. Patrick Hoffmann completed a research stay at the Universidad de Talca in Chile. The visit was made possible through the invitation of Dr. Carlos Bopp, with whom Patrick is collaborating on a joint research project examining drought adaptation in Chilean irrigation communities.
During the stay, Patrick gave a research seminar entitled “Who owns saved water? An experimental investigation of psychological ownership in Spanish irrigation communities.” The presentation sparked discussions on water governance, collective resource management, and the role of psychological ownership in water use.
Beyond the seminar, the visit provided valuable opportunities for academic exchange with researchers at the Universidad de Talca and for discussing future avenues of collaboration between the two institutions. Strengthening international research partnerships in the field of climate resilience and water governance remains a key objective of the ongoing cooperation.
The research stay was generously supported by the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Augsburg.
