Following its successful first run, the Faculty of Law will once again offer the additional qualification in ‘Digital Law’ in the winter semester 2025/2026.
This will enable students to acquire specialist knowledge and practical skills in digitalisation and legal informatics, which are becoming increasingly important in professional practice and enable interdisciplinary exchange and problem-solving in digitally networked societies.
The programme continues to attract great interest: 101 students took part in the admission test on 15 October 2025.

The June issue of the journal ‘Datenschutz und Datensicherheit’ (DuD), edited by Prof. Dr. Bj?rn Steinr?tter and Prof. Dr. Buchner, focuses on the relationship between AI and data protection.

The law faculty of the University of Augsburg has become partner of the research project EMPOWER-U with the aim of strengthening the right of informational self-determination, specifically where it concerns patients' health data. (...)
