For written exams at our department, you are generally allowed to bring a cheat sheet.
The following applies:
?
?
1 DIN A4 page, printed on both sides
Handwritten or computer-generated and printed.Copies of cheat sheets from fellow students are not permitted.
Labeled with your name and student ID number.
The cheat sheet must be submitted with the exam. This ensures that each student uses their own cheat sheet. You can either use your own copy during the exam or have the cheat sheet returned to you during the exam review.
The cheat sheet must be legible without a magnifying glass or special reading aid (yes, someone asks this question every semester!).

The goal of our courses is for you to understand concepts and relationships and to be able to apply basic procedures. You are not expected to memorize formulas. We strongly recommend creating the cheat sheet by hand, as this leads to better neural connections for most learning styles. The best way to learn the material effectively is to connect the different topics during exam preparation and carefully consider which cheat sheet items are truly useful.Experience shows that if your cheat sheet is too cluttered, you'll waste too much time searching for information during the exam! Therefore, choose wisely.
