Im Rahmen eines Gastaufenthaltes an der Karlsuniversit?t Prag vom 1. bis 4. M?rz 2026 leitete Prof. Dr. Ulrike Ohl zwei geographiedidaktische Workshops zum Thema "Teaching controversial geographical topics."

Dabei kam es zu einem intensiven und lebendigen Austausch mit den Prager Studierenden des Geographielehramts. Diskutiert wurden unter anderem methodische Ans?tze, wie kontroverse Themen des Faches im Unterricht fachlich fundiert, multiperspektivisch und zugleich lernwirksam behandelt werden k?nnen.

Der Aufenthalt fand im Rahmen des A.LEAP-Programms zur Internationalisierung des Lehramtsstudiums statt, in dem die Karlsuniversit?t Prag eine Partneruniversit?t der Universit?t Augsburg ist. Gemeinsam mit dem Kooperationspartner vor Ort, Prof. Dr. Martin Hanus vom Department of Social Geography and Regional Development, entstanden zudem neue Ideen für zukünftige gemeinsame Aktivit?ten.

As part of a guest visit to Charles University in Prague from March 1 to 4, 2026, Prof. Dr. Ulrike Ohl led two geography education workshops on the topic “Teaching controversial geographical topics.”

The workshop resulted in an intense and lively exchange with the students in the geography teacher education program in Prague. Among other things,?methodological approaches were discussed on how controversial topics in the subject can be addressed in the classroom in a way that is academically sound, multiperspectival, and at the same time effective for learning.

The visit took place within the framework of the A.LEAP program for the internationalisation of teacher education, in which Charles Univeristy of Prague is a partner university of the University of Augsburg. Together with the local cooperation partner Prof. Dr. Martin Hanus of the Department of Social Geography and Regional Development, new ideas for future joint activities also developed.
