Admission requirements
- A German or foreign university degree with a final grade of 2.5 (minimum).
- It is possible to improve your grade by 0.2 twice through relevant internships, lectures, and other activities. You can use? this form to apply.

Important: You can only apply once you have completed your bachelor’s degree and handed in your bachelor’s thesis.

- Transcript of Records (If the transcript is not available in German or English, please also upload a certified translation)
- Degree certificate or foreign degree certificate (If the certificate is not available in German or English, please also upload a certified translation. Please note that you must submit a certified paper copy for enrollment if you did not obtain the certificate at the University of Augsburg).
- If the bachelor's degree certificate (or equivalent degree) is not yet available and the average grade is not shown on the transcript, a certificate of average grades must be enclosed. (Students at the University of Augsburg can request this by email from the Student Information Office (ssc@zv.uni-augsburg.de). If you are studying at a university other than the University of Augsburg and have not yet completed your studies, your average grade must be officially confirmed (with a stamp/signature) by the issuing university (usually via a transcript of records). The original confirmation must be submitted for enrollment.)

Application deadlines
The application deadline for the winter semester is the 1st of September each year.
The application deadline for the summer semester is the 1st of March each year.
We ask that you submit your application documents in a timely manner.
If you do not expect to receive your bachelor’s degree certificate by the application deadline because, for example, your bachelor’s thesis has not yet been assessed, you may still apply (provided that you have already submitted your bachelor’s thesis). Please refer to the information above regarding the application documents to be submitted if your bachelor’s degree certificate and bachelor’s diploma are not yet available.
Introduction to the degree programme
An introduction to the degree programme is offered at the start of every semester. The introduction typically takes place in the two weeks before the start of the lecture period. The exact dates are provided on this webpage in the “News” section. Please also note:

Structure of the Environmental Ethics M.A.
Structure of the Environmental Ethics M.A.
The interdisciplinary Environmental Ethics M.A. is composed of the following modules:
- 3 Compulsory Modules
- 4 Compulsory Elective Modules, out of which 2 must be chosen and which serve as a specialisation
- 1 Elective Module whose content and courses come from participating disciplines
- 1 Thesis Module in which the master’s thesis is written.
A total of 120 ECTS credit points must be acquired.?

- M2: People, Nature, Culture (Philosophy, Nature Philosophy, Anthropology, Epistemology, History of Philosophy; Cultural and Literary Studies; Environmental History)
- M3: Environment, Law, Economics (Environmental Law; Environmental Economics; Sustainable Management)
Compulsory Elective Modules (two must be chosen):
